If you have the time, 5 cycles is always preferable to 4.

Can I train myself to need less sleep?

No. While you can adapt to functioning on less sleep and may feel subjectively fine, objective tests show that cognitive performance, reaction time, and decision-making continue to decline with insufficient sleep. The very small percentage of people who genuinely need less than 7 hours carry a rare genetic mutation.
