Understanding Triangles

A triangle is a polygon with three sides, three vertices, and three interior angles. Triangle Area Formula

Types of Triangles

By Sides

An equilateral triangle has all three sides equal in length and all three angles equal to 60°. An isosceles triangle has exactly two sides of equal length, with the angles opposite those sides also equal. A scalene triangle has all three sides of different lengths and all three angles different.

By Angles

An acute triangle has all three angles less than 90°. A right triangle has exactly one 90° angle. An obtuse triangle has one angle greater than 90°.
